Ice House Lofts

Ice House Lofts marks Braden Fellman’s first ground-up development, while also transforming a former Ice Factory into distinctive residential lofts. This adaptive reuse project became a pioneering example of new construction in Decatur in the early 2000s, marking the city’s first new apartment development in a decade. The founders of Braden Fellman saw the untapped potential in the original building, envisioning it as an opportunity to introduce much-needed housing to the area. By preserving key historical features such as exposed brick, concrete, and ceiling heights of up to 24 feet, they maintained the building’s unique character while adapting it for modern living.
